End of Season 2010 Meeting

Lochgelly High School, Thursday 16 September 2010

The Fife JCA end of season meeting took place at Lochgelly High School on Thursday 16 September 2010.  Nic Krzyzanowski represented DCC, with Broomhall, Dunfermline, Falkland and Largo also represented.

Key points of discussion were:

  • Levels of participation in junior cricket in Fife have decreased over the past couple of seasons, so looking to reinvigorate for 2011
  • Co-operation with schools, particularly at primary level, is critical - DCC looking to put in place Kwik Cricket sessions in local primary schools for 2011 and perhaps engage with the likes of Kirkcaldy High School for secondary school aged children
  • All clubs need a large number of volunteers to help support junior cricket development, with coaching development paramount to that - DCC should be looking to put a number of players through ECB Level 1 courses in the new year
  • Any talented players are invited to attend the Fife JCA district teams, which in turn feed into the Caledonia Academy - DCC will be looking to nominate players over the winter, and perhaps get our coaches involved in working with such teams

Many other issues were discussed.  If you would like further information on any of these or have any other queries about junior cricket deveopment at DCC then please contact us.
