Kismet v Dunnikier

Posted by Bajanbc on June 13, 2011 at 1:42 PM

A stunning allround performance saw Dunnikier completely overwhelm their rivals Kismet at a wind swept Duloch Park on Sunday. Batting first on a very soft wicket after losing the toss the hosts started brightly with Arman punishing anything short, but once Dunnikiers bowlers got their line right the wickets started to fall. Z.Ahmed fell for 6 and M.Ahmed for 9 then the prize wicket of Arman for 25. At 53 for 3 from 13 the scene was set for young Elliot Cutter to rip apart the Kismet middle order. His career best 4-12 from 3 overs reduced the hosts to 79-7.Some lusty late order blows by Ali (17) and T.Nasseem (21*) left Kismet on 136-9 from 30 overs. Dunnikiers reply was nothing short of a blitzkreig. Even the early loss of Robbie Singh and Nickin Matthew did not halt the charge.Ashfaq Anjum was in sublime form, cutting pulling and driving with ease.At 102-2 from only 14 overs victory was assured but noboby expected Sarfraz Mohammad(47*) to launch a fierce assault on Kismet bowler Ashgar Ali,as 4 sixes and a four disappeared to all parts of Duloch Park in one over. The win was completed with another glorious drive from Anjum (66*).The win keeps Dunnikier top and unbeaten so far this season.

Summary.

Kismet 136-9 (30 overs) M.Arman 25,T.Naseem 21*, E.Cutter 4-12

Dunnikier 137-2 (15.2 overs) A.Anjum 66*,S.Mohammad 47*

What a brilliant victory and well done to everyone involved. You missed me then??
Seriously, I couldn't be happier. The squad are well set for a glorious season but you need to remember to keep this momentum going into every game and at training.
Congratulations to Elliott on his "career best" figures and I'm sure that won't last long as his career to date is only 3 or 4 games at this level so he has his whole life to beat it yet!!...lol. That said, cricket is a team game and I am proud to have played the game with all of you especially when you are recording results like this. Keep up the good work. JimS
