Dunnikier v Dunfermline Wanderers

Posted by Bajanbc on August 21, 2011 at 2:05 PM

Dunnikier continued their relentless march on the FCU title by despatching Wanderers with some ease at a sunny Dunnikier Park. Batting first ,after winning the toss,on a very soft wicket,Dunnikiers batsmen plundered the visitors bowling to all corners. Stand out performances from Ash Anjum (78) and Sarfraz Mohammed (53) saw Dunnikier post 203 all out from 30 overs.Corbys 3-35 being the pick of Wanderers bowling. In reply the visitors never got going,12-3 from 7 overs with the run rate spiralling.A fightback of sorts by J.Botha (31) and S.Hitz (8) briefly brought wanderers back into it until young Elliot Cutter produced a quite stunning one handed overhead catch to dismiss Botha. Dunnikier sensed blood and quickly wrapped the game up taking the next 6 wickets for only 17 runs, leaving Wanderers 68 all out. The win puts Dunnikier on an unbeatable 32 points in the league. One more win away at Broomhall will secure the title.

Dunnikier : 203 All Out    A.Anjum 78  S.Mohammed 53.  Corby 3-35

Dunfermline Wanderers : 68 All Out  J.Botha 31   H.Raza 3-22  L.Thomas 2-1.
