About Me

Used to be half decent, but now getting way too old for the game. Fortunately, I play for Dunnikier where age is no barrier... it would appear.

Now delighted at scoring ton's against 7 players (including three 12 year olds), and making it through my 10 overs without having a heart attack!

Still to perfect the Brolin pirouette... But I'm going to work on it this season!

About Me

Bits and pieces player -  that's not because I'm mediocre at everything, but because I'm constantly injured

Name

Nic Krzyzanowski

Born

St Andrews (near the Crazy Golf at Craigtoun) back in the 70s

Marital status

Married (to Nicola) with two kids (Amy and Ben) - so not much time for the cricket any more

Membership type

Senior

Number of years playing cricket

Started in 1990, but had a couple of years in retirement

Previous clubs

Dundee HSFP, Cupar

Most memorable cricketing moment

Winning the Scottish Plate as skipper with Dundee HSFP in 2003.  For others it's more likely me bouncing the female player at Watsonians a few years back - I slipped in delivery, honestly!

Cricketing moment you'd most like to forget

I'm sure I had 1 golden duck and 3 ducks on the trot at Cupar

Best player you've played alongside

Tim 'shanga' Lang, overseas player at Dundee HSFP for sheer tenacity.  Mike Boyd for sheer talent.

Best player you've played against

Lots of self-claimed superstars of yonder years - but too many to pick out.  Gutted to have missed out on a game against Lashings once, to make way for a racist aggravator - so could have listed loads :(  Roger Telemachus was pretty brisk though!

Best batting performance

In the nets definitely, otherwise various 40 odds of some sort

Best bowling performance

Down wind in a 3 over spell.  Otherwise there was a 7 for at Cupar - amazing what happens when people let you bowl.

Best fielding performance

When my body is fit enough to get me out of the slips... Like to claim amazing catches - best one against Marchmont many years ago running round the boundary for a diving catch at deep square leg.  My running one-handed low-down catch in front of the sightscreen at Cupar (in front of the school girls of New South Wales) was good fun ;)

DFLer or DFAer?

DFL

Preferred wicket celebration

The truffle-shuffle would be frightening, so I'll just give out a camp little 'woo-hoo'

Cricketing ambition

To get rid of the idiot sledging from non-talented players

Favourite food

Spaghetti with a wee sprinkling of pepper

Favourite drink

Jeez, too many to pick.  Deuchars or Magners.  Long vodka or cocktails.  Blue PA

Favourite film

Mmmm.  How do I answer this without sounding totally sad.  I can't I think - so I'll say The Goonies

Favourite song

Round Here - Counting Crows

Favourite changing-room song

I Want You Back - Jackson Five

Superstition - Stevie Wonder

Disco cheese all the way otherwise :)

Fantasy girl (excluding the missus/girlfriend/partner/pet)

Alan Cutter if he tries that soap trick in the showers again.  A couple of the IPL cheerleaders would be worth it too.

Major dislikes

Poorly attended/organised training sessions

About Me

Dunnikier legend, Redpath became the youngest centurion in Dunnikiers long history at the age of 8.  He went on to become the most prolific batsman in Dunnikiers modern era scoring the clubs first triple-century at the age of 18.  Redpath went on to score more than 2500 runs that season at an average of 198.73.  Undoubtedly the biggest talent to represent Dunnikier, Redpath shunned the big offers from the English counties and remained loyal to Dunnikier until his retirement.  A true legend on the playing field and ultimate gentleman off the field.

Major dislikes

People who are late. It gets right on my tits.  Also getting beaten occasionally by this Brolin character at golf.  Anyway, who is Brolin?  I have never heard anyone call Craig "Brolin".  Its either Jabba, JT, The Hutt, Jabba the Hutt, or Jabs.  Or Jacques Kallis.  I also really dislike silly nicknames.  "Brolin" being one of my most disliked.  Tell you what, I can't stand golfers with electric golf buggies either.  I think "Brolin" has one incidentally.

Dundee University Cricket Club

Most memorable cricketing moment

Winning the McKane Park 20/20 despite having a 'mare of fielding

performance.

Comeback win against QEGS Wakefield is up there for School 1st XI. Main batsman tonking us around the park was caught by a running catch from one of our fielders, then their last five went for less than twenty runs. We won by a dozen runs at most.

Winning Pocklington Cricket Tournament in last sporting event with

school

Cricketing moment you'd most like to forget

The 'mare of a fielding performance against Dunfermline at the McKane 20/20.

Best player you've played alongside

School- Stephen Ditchfield, classy batsman and a fiery pace bowler at his best.

Best player you've played against

The tall QEGS Wakefield batsman. Can't remember his name. Like a

one man batting line-up. Had all the shots, Great foot movement for his height.

Best batting performance

Last wicket pairing for School 1st XI on debut. 45 run partnership.

Nearly won the game lost by five runs. Gutting but happy with how I

batted.

Best bowling performance

Think 5 for 6 off five overs against George Watsons College. We were missing our two best players and they were full strength.

At the club it would be bowling eight overs straight through against

Kismet in the sun and only going for 12 runs on a belter of a track.

Best fielding performance

Not really got one specific one. Fielding in 2005 as a season was best

i've ever done.

DFLer or DFAer?

Eh?

Preferred wicket celebration

Hmmm depends on the moment. Sometimes the fist pump or raised hand.

/finger. If i'm really pumped then the Leyton Hewitt 'COME ON!!'

usually works well.
