44 years old
St Andrews (near the Crazy Golf at Craigtoun) back in the 70s
Married (to Nicola) with two kids (Amy and Ben) - so not much time for the cricket any more
Number of years playing cricket
Started in 1990, but had a couple of years in retirement
Dundee HSFP, Cupar
Most memorable cricketing moment
Winning the Scottish Plate as skipper with Dundee HSFP in 2003. For others it's more likely me bouncing the female player at Watsonians a few years back - I slipped in delivery, honestly!
Cricketing moment you'd most like to forget
I'm sure I had 1 golden duck and 3 ducks on the trot at Cupar
Best player you've played alongside
Tim 'shanga' Lang, overseas player at Dundee HSFP for sheer tenacity. Mike Boyd for sheer talent.
Best player you've played against
Lots of self-claimed superstars of yonder years - but too many to pick out. Gutted to have missed out on a game against Lashings once, to make way for a racist aggravator - so could have listed loads Roger Telemachus was pretty brisk though!
Best batting performance
In the nets definitely, otherwise various 40 odds of some sort
Best bowling performance
Down wind in a 3 over spell. Otherwise there was a 7 for at Cupar - amazing what happens when people let you bowl.
Best fielding performance
When my body is fit enough to get me out of the slips... Like to claim amazing catches - best one against Marchmont many years ago running round the boundary for a diving catch at deep square leg. My running one-handed low-down catch in front of the sightscreen at Cupar (in front of the school girls of New South Wales) was good fun
DFLer or DFAer?
Preferred wicket celebration
The truffle-shuffle would be frightening, so I'll just give out a camp little 'woo-hoo'
To get rid of the idiot sledging from non-talented players
Spaghetti with a wee sprinkling of pepper
Jeez, too many to pick. Deuchars or Magners. Long vodka or cocktails. Blue PA
Mmmm. How do I answer this without sounding totally sad. I can't I think - so I'll say The Goonies
Round Here - Counting Crows
Favourite changing-room song
I Want You Back - Jackson Five
Superstition - Stevie Wonder
Disco cheese all the way otherwise
Fantasy girl (excluding the missus/girlfriend/partner/pet)
Alan Cutter if he tries that soap trick in the showers again. A couple of the IPL cheerleaders would be worth it too.
Poorly attended/organised training sessions
